Last holiday season, the LA Times selected its best-loved sweet treats and published "Holiday Cookies: 50 Favorite Recipes." Now Food Editor Russ Parsons and his staff have updated and expanded this classic. They've added 10 new winning recipes from our annual reader bake-off and five additional personal favorites. This collection of 65 recipes comes from a wide range of sources – from world-famous pastry chefs to home cooks. There are recipes for chocolate cookies and gingerbread cookies and cookies made with nuts and candied fruit. There are even a couple of candy recipes. Some recipes are so simple they can be made by young children while others will be entertaining projects for even the most experienced home bakers. And every recipe has been tested and re-tested by Chef Noelle Carter in the Los Angeles Times Test Kitchen until it is as foolproof as possible.
